DESIGN ENGINEER

Pillar Engineering & Surveying, P.C. is seeking a site civil design engineer with a minimum of 5 years design experience. This multi-talented individual must be energetic, attentive, quality conscious, a creative thinker, self starter, willing to work, poses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Prior experience in sanitary and storm sewer, septic, water, pavement, and grading design required. Familiarity with erosion and control measures and writing narratives expected. The candidate must be familiar with industry standards, terminology, field operations, AutoCAD, Land Desktop, Civil 3D, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point. Foundation, retaining walls, beam, and bridge design preferred but not required. BS in Civil Engineering and EIT required. Professional Engineering license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or the ability to obtain one in the near future is preferred. Field and survey experience is a plus. Salary is commensurate to skill set level.

INSPECTOR

Pillar Engineering & Surveying, P.C. is seeking a construction inspector with a minimum of 7 years field experience with utility and/or heavy highway construction and/or building/operating/maintaining waste water and water treatment plants. This multi-talented individual must be energetic, attentive, quality conscious, a creative thinker, self starter, willing to work, poses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Character must be such to work with Contractors and public officials. The candidate must be familiar with industry standards, terminology, field operations (means and methods of completing work), shop drawings, reading plans, specifications, and schedules. Computer skills include Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point. The candidate must be able to work outdoors, get in and out of vehicles, walk steep terrain, and carry testing equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Construction Technology Degree is a plus, but not required. Prior experience managing USDA, DOT, federally funded projects is also a plus. Salary is commensurate to skill set level.

PROJECT ENGINEER

Pillar Engineering & Surveying, P.C. is seeking a civil project engineer with a minimum of 10 years field experience in inspecting or managing utility and/or heavy highway construction and/or building/operating/maintaining waste water and water treatment plants projects. This multi-talented individual must be energetic, attentive, quality conscious, a creative thinker, self starter, willing to work, poses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Character must be such to work with Contractors and public officials. The candidate must be familiar with industry standards, terminology, field operations (means and methods of completing work), shop drawings, reading plans, specifications, and schedules. Computer skills include Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point and scheduling programs. Prior experience with CAD software and estimating is a plus. The candidate must be able to work outdoors, get in and out of vehicles, walk steep terrain, and carry plans. Construction Technology Degree or equivalent is required. BS or EIT is a plus. Prior experience managing USDA, DOT, federally funded projects is required. Salary is commensurate to skill set level.
