Located on Lot 31 in Wythe County’s Industrial Park (Progress Park), Lane Enterprises will utilize their 25 acre site to make and store HDPE drainage pipe. A new rail spur will deliver not only the plastic pellets used to manufacture the plastic pipe but also deliver steel coils for metal pipe manufacturing at their Dublin plant. Existing contours, flood plain, poor soils, springs (under ground and above ground) and archeological restrictions made this job challenging to balance the site. Along with the site design, Pillar designed a secondary sewage treatment system with UV light disinfection in order to obtain a Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) sewage discharge permit as the Industrial Park’s sewage line to this lot has not been installed. Our sewage design did take into account the future gravity line hook-up for this lot and the adjoining one. The Contractor performing the construction utilized us for construction stakeout as well.
