Mark W. Boenke, P.E.
Education - Mr. Boenke graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in
1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Experience - Upon graduation, Mr. Boenke went to work for SIECO, a southern Indiana consulting engineering firm in their inspection department and supervised federally funded county road and bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects. In 1994, Mr. Boenke began working for the Indiana Department of Transportation (InDOT) as Project Engineer. While with InDOT, Mr. Boenke managed major interstate road and bridge rehabilitation and replacement contracts. This included highway lighting, drainage, traffic markings, and steel structures. In 1998, Mr. Boenke received his Indiana Professional Engineer license. In 1999, Mr. Boenke moved from highway construction to maintenance when he was hired by VMS, Inc. in Virginia. That same year he obtained his Virginia Professional Engineer license. He gained experience in maintenance of interstate facilities and began to develop contracts, specifications, and engineering estimates for replacement and repair of deficient assets based upon condition assessments and budget constraints. In 2003, Mr. Boenke left VMS and started Pillar Engineering & Surveying, P.C. in pursuit of site development engineering and design. With Pillar, Mr. Boenke has developed erosion and sediment control plans, subdivision planning and design, stormwater management and design, sewer and water line designs, as well as consulting on several civil engineering projects.
Training - Over the course of his career, Mr. Boenke has had numerous FHWA and DOT engineering courses, certifications, and safety seminars. He has also completed several Fred Pryor and other leadership seminars.
Randy C. Wright, L.S.
Education - Mr. Wright graduated from Wytheville Community College in 1993 with
an A.A.S. degree in Civil Engineering Technology.
Experience - After graduation, Mr. Wright went to work for Anderson & Associates,
Inc., in Blacksburg, VA and gained valuable experience working on and managing
large high profile projects. He obtained his surveying license in 2001. In February
2003, Mr. Wright was transferred to Fredericksburg, VA., and headed up the surveying
department in that office until July 2003. Mr. Wright then joined Pillar Engineering
& Surveying, P.C. as head of the surveying department in Wytheville, VA.
Brian E. Pearman
Education - Mr. Pearman graduated from Wytheville Community College in 1995 with an A.A.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Wytheville Community College, Wytheville VA, (1995). He is currently enrolled at Bluefield State College in the Civil Engineering Technology program, in search of his Bachelor of Science degree.
Experience - Mr. Pearman has experience in different construction fields. He was a certified soil, concrete, and steel inspector for Professional Service Industries (PSI) for two years. After that, he was a Senior Land Superintendent for the largest Developer/Home Builder in the country, Pulte Homes, for more than 4 years. With Pulte, Mr. Pearman's responsibilities included scheduling, budgeting, and project management. Mr. Pearman went to work for Simpson Construction as a foreman/estimator. There he worked in the field installing water, storm, and sewer pipe. May of 2003 brought Mr. Pearman to working with Archer Western on the New River Bridge Project as a concrete and steel inspector and surveying the bridge layout. In September 2003, Mr. Pearman joined Pillar Engineering & Surveying, P.C. as lead inspector, engineer's and surveyor's assistant. Currently, he heads our Inspection and Project Management Departments. While with Pillar, Mr. Pearman has become VDOT/VRTBA Erosion & Sediment Control Certified and VDOT certified in pavement markings, soil and aggregate, concrete field and asphalt field. He has Hazmat Certification as required by U.S. DOT and IATA. As our Radiation Safety Officer, he has successfully completed the Nuclear Gauge Safety Training Class allowing him to operate our nuclear density gauge.
Training -
Billy J. Anderson
Mr. Anderson graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2000 with a B.A. in Land Surveying and Mapping. Mr. Anderson also graduated from Wytheville Community College in 1997 with an A.A.S. in Drafting and Design. In April of 2001, Mr. Anderson completed and passed the National Licensed Surveyor in Training (LSIT) test. Since graduating, he has worked with several surveyors, equipment, and software. He currently leads Pillar’s field survey operations.
Experience:
Mr. Anderson has worked the past five years using both education and on hand training to complete various projects involving land development, land boundary relocation, and construction layout. Mr. Anderson has worked several years as a boundary surveyor allowing him to locate and recreate property boundary using physical evidence found while performing field surveys, legal and historical documentation gathered while researching through court house records, and parole evidence acquired while interacting with property owners around the project areas.
Education - Mr. Price graduated from Virginia Highlands Community College in 1999 with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design Technology.
Experience – Upon Graduation, Mr. Price moved to North Carolina and went to work for Black and Veatch in Cary, North Carolina doing Civil Drafting and Design. In 2000 Mr. Price went to work for Dewberry & Davis Inc. in Raleigh, North Carolina. While at Dewberry he gained valuable experience working on large to small municipal engineering projects for various clients including the City of Raleigh, Johnston County, Pulte Homes, MCAS (Marine Corp Air Station) Cherry Point and Camp Lejeune Marine Corp Base. In 2005 Mr. Price went to work for Municipal Engineering Services Company, P.C. in Garner, North Carolina. While working At Municipal Engineering he did the site design for the Duplin County Transfer Station in North Carolina. He also worked on other smaller projects including site inspections for the Town of Chadbourn, North Carolina. In 2006 Mr. Price came to work for Pillar Engineering & Surveying P.C. and does our production Computer Aided Design work using AutoCAD Civil 3D software to layout and design various project site plans for Production Plants, Marinas, Subdivisions, RV Parks, and other specialized site plans.
